The agents successfully synthesize the compound. Agent Oh wants to purify their compound, but there is no time to waste. The footage below documents attempting to administer the compound to the alien.

Suddenly, the alien’s pulse stops. What went wrong?

Agent Oh takes off his mask, visibly frustrated. “I told you guys. I knew we should have recrystallized…”

The Team:
Special Agents Younggook Oh, Marc Gutierrez and Brandon Jones belong to a top secret division of the CIA, codenamed SSG 5.1, whose headquarters are in the basement of the U-M chemistry building. Agent Oh (codename Zero) functions as the team’s tech specialist, Jones’s has a gift for interpreting spectra, and Gutierrez provides needed comic relief.

The work of SSG 5.1 must remain secret, and so the agents pretend to be freshman chemistry students to avoid suspicion. This explains the extra people taking quizzes and exams who are not registered for CHEM 215HH. They use the following cover stories:

Younggook Oh claims to be a freshman at University of Michigan, “hoping” to major in Microbiology. He was raised in South Korea half of his life and the remaining in Ann Arbor and Novi. He loves to play baseball and draw.

Marc Gutierrez is a freshman at University of Michigan, majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. He was born in Ann Arbor and and grew up in Durban, South Africa. He has always been fascinated by the sciences, but also enjoys playing guitar. In Africa, Marc witnessed the disparity that people faced and decided that he wanted to become a doctor.

Brandon Jones is a freshman at the University of Michigan, majoring in Chemical Engineering. He is from Cedar Springs, MI. He watches an unhealthy amount of TV shows on Netflix in his free time.
